Greetings on Children’s Day

 

 

14th November is celebrated as  children’s day in India. Greetings to all the children on this very special day !! 

Children's day in India is celebrated on Pandit Nehru's birthday as a day of fun and frolic, a celebration of childhood, children and  and Nehruji's love for them. Today nation celebrates 125th anniversary of  Pt Jawahar lal Nehru,the first Prime Minister of India. . Every year special postage stamps are issued by India Post on Children’s day. But this year India Post is not issuing any stamp on children’s day.The long tradition of issuing stamps on children’s day which started in 1957 seems to be broken this year .

First stamps were issued on children’s day in 1957.

        

But special programmes are being organized throughout the country on this very special day. I am sharing here some beautiful stamps issued on Children’s day.
